How to Order
Ordering Information/Terms and Conditions of Sale
Placement of an order to Hawk Hill Orchids is an automatic agreement to all terms and conditions specified on this page.
We are currently only able to ship to the continental United States and Alaska.
Plant identification and health: All plants are guaranteed to be correctly identified and labeled. All plants are grown in Pacifica, California, in a state licensed and inspected nursery. Plants are guaranteed to be healthy at the time of shipment. The future sucess of the plants, in terms of growth and flowering, is entirely dependent upon your growing conditions and your understanding of what these plants need to thrive. If you cannot meet the needs of the plants they will not grow and flower optimally. We assume no responsibility whatsoever for your growing conditions and future growing success.
Ordering: To order, please send a list of plants you would like to:
E-mail is the preferred route of communication because it prevents loss of vital information or mistakes in translating over the phone.
Payment methods: Payment must be received in full before the plants are shipped. Payment can be made via check, money order, or credit card via PayPal. If you choose to pay via credit card, you will be sent a PayPal invoice once we receive your order.

Sales tax: California state sales tax will be added to all customers' orders being delivered within the state of California. Do not ask us to break the law. We would never ask you to.
Shipping: Plants will be shipped on Mondays or Tuesdays via USPS Priority Mail. Shipping and handling charges of 15% the plant value will be added to all orders (minimum charge: $12). We are happy to use other shipping methods if you prefer; please let us know. Additional charges may apply depending upon how much the alternative method costs, and will need to be collected prior to shipment. If you have an account with a particular shipping vendor and would like us to use that, we are happy to. Insurance is optional and costs extra, and will be purchased only at your specific request. Uninsured plants travel at your, the customer's, risk.
Because these plants are cultivated in our greenhouses in Pacifica, CA, we can safely hold them for you indefinitely. If you are expecting bad weather, let us know and we will hold your plants until you give us the green light to ship. We are not responsible for plants that are damaged or lost during shipment for any reason, including bad weather, incorrect address information, carrier incompetency or failure, or Acts of God. Whenever possible, we are happy to help you with filing a claim against the carrier if they have failed their obligations.
Refunds and exchanges: Plants that are mislabeled will be refunded or replaced at our discretion, subject to availibility. If you are not satisfied with your plants upon delivery please notify us within 10 days of the plants' arrival at the shipping address. Unsatisfactory plants for which you would like a refund must be shipped back to us in the condition they were received prior to our issuance of a full refund for the purchase price of the plants and shipping. We will incur the costs of returning the plants to us. Unsatisfactory plants may also be replaced, subject to availability, if agreed upon by Hawk Hill Orchids and you, the customer.
Liability of Hawk Hill Orchids and Colombian Orchid Imports: In any event, the liability of Hawk Hill Orchids and Colombian Orchid Imports is limited to the purchase price of the plants and shipping costs that we charged to you, the customer.
